About Me
Hello!
I'm Georgina, a Senior Paediatric Speech Pathologist currently living in Western Australia. I am passionate about working with children and their families, engaging in therapy that is fun, dynamic and functional.
I developed a severe stutter at two years of age, attended speech pathology and now consider myself a fluent speaker. My father and three younger siblings also stutter, as well as my grandfather who stuttered in five different languages. This family history and personal experience peaked my interest in the field, and sparked a passion of helping others with this issue.
Having always worked with children in different contexts, growing up I worked as a nanny, a children's camp counsellor at a YMCA camp in North America, various positions at Ronald McDonald House Charities, and as a Paediatric Speechie.
I believe in a fun, family-centre approach where play is a key component. Working with children and their families requires a dynamic, flexible, and animated environment.
After graduating from Curtin University, I commenced my career in Western Australia working at Ronald McDonald House Charities, as well as Private Practice settings, developing experience within the National Disability Insurance Scheme and private spaces. In 2019 relocating to rural Victoria to take on a Senior Role, developing the Speech Pathology Services within a large allied health team.
Having moved back to Perth, I currently split my time between an NDIS role, and my own private services, GK Speech.
